Cleanup the beach, you hippies!

Outsiders USA Beach Cleanup

For our first cleanup, hosted by Persimmon Hollow Brewing and Outsiders USA (sponsored by 4Ocean), we took to the beach!

Our beautiful beaches took a hit from the recent storms and are in need of some help. We had nearly 300 people attend, and managed to pickup 864 pounds of trash from the beach. It was incredible!! During our first meeting to discuss this partnership and our cleanups, we were optimistic that maybe next year we could have consistently 100+ people at our cleanups. We never imaged we would get such an incredible turnout at our very first one.

Many people showed up from Orlando, and 1 hr+ drives away! The first 40 to arrive received a 4Ocean t-shirt. All participants were given cleanup materials, including a glove and bags for collecting trash. Our friends at 4Ocean supplied us with five bracelets for the top trash collectors. Those that won had picked up ~ 35 lbs of trash, 64 lbs, and up to 127 lbs!!!

Everyone was invited to the brewery afterwards, for a free Persimmon Hollow Beach Hippie beer and pizza at the Outsiders shop. Additionally, every attendee received one raffle ticket to be entered to win a standup paddle board from Evolve (courtesy of Persimmon Hollow Brewing). This board will be up for display at the beginning of the year and given away at the end of the season. So each one of our cleanups you attend, you’ll get another ticket and chance to win!

WHERE: On the beach in front of North Beach Community Park.

HOW TO FIND US: Look for the blue “Outsiders USA” tents and tons of awesome people!

HOW LONG: We’ll do check-in between 8:30-9 where you’ll get your gloves & bag for collecting trash. By 10:30 everyone should be making their way back to the tents for some chill time and prize giveaways. =)

For any questions, or to be added to the email list for future events, contact us.

We are so grateful for every person who helped us pull off this event, and for each person, kid and bebe that attended! Thank you all so much, and we hope to see you at many future cleanups.
