You can launch from inside the state park or at Wekiva Island. Paddling from one to the other is so enjoyable, offering you lots of opportunity to spot wildlife. We recommend launching at the state park and paddling to the island for a food/drinks stop, then returning to park for a swim.

Fees:

$6 per vehicle from Wekiva State Park

$10 launch fee/per board from Wekiva Island

What to bring:

Board, paddle, flotation device + safety whistle, water, sunscreen and hat.

Join us for a meetup at Wekiva or rent boards from us for $40/half day or $60/full day per person.

Time:

The current isn’t too strong, and at just 1 mile each way the paddle should only take 30-45 min each way.

Level:

Beginner

Wekiva Springs Paddle Distance:

2 miles (out and back)

Things to see:

The state park has a beautiful swimming area and many trails for biking and walking. This lush, tropical park has a large number of birds and is part of the Great Florida Birding & Wildlife Trail.

Best time of day/year:

Due to the proximity to Orlando, this waterway can get very crowded on the weekends. Weekdays or early morning weekends will be best. We paddle here all throughout the year, but Fall and Spring are the best times.
