Kings Landing

Kings Landing Outsiders Paddleboarding

Kings Landing is one of our favorite spots in central Florida! Located in Apopka on Rock Springs Run, this private launch is about a 1.2 mile paddle downstream of from Rock Springs, and about 8.5 miles upstream of Wekiva Springs. The pristine, clear waters of the “Emerald Cut” are a gorgeous paddle through a narrow, windy stream. This is a great paddle for getting connected to nature and experiencing real Florida.

Location:

5722 Baptist Camp Rd, Apopka, FL 32712
(407) 886-0859

Pull into the park and you can unload in the loop. There are nice clean restrooms, an outdoor shower and a gift shop with supplies if you forgot something.

Each person must be attached to a vessel (no shared paddle boards).
Each person must go inside and sign a waiver and get a bracelet.

What to bring:

Board & Paddle
Life Jacket
Hat
Sunscreen
Whistle
Cooler with snacks and drinks (NO alcohol)
Water
Hat
Hammock

Time:

Paddle upstream only takes ~1 hour, and is much quicker on the way back.

Level:

Beginner to Intermediate, due to it being narrow and against stream. However, you can keep it easy and simple and just paddle a short ways upstream. The little peninsula is a great place to swim and hang out, and a very short 100 ft or so from launch point.

Distance:

Paddling upstream towards Rock Springs is about 1.2 miles and a great paddle through mostly shady and very narrow waterways. Lots of twists and turns.

Things to see:

There is a rope swing and tree stump diving board to jump into the water. The swimming hole is excellent for relaxing and hanging out or even setting up a hammock. The water going up is crystal clear and beautiful.

Best time:

Weekdays. We recommend getting on the water by 10am on weekdays. The earlier the better on a weekend.
